The Trust is consulted on all planning applications affecting Weaverham. We always aim to stick to planning policies in our responses while ensuring we help and speak on behalf of the majority of the residents of Weaverham. We have been involved with a number of high profile cases resulting in positive outcomes.
We organise lectures on subjects such as planning, history and geography. There are two open meetings with guest speakers during the year and these are held at the Scout hall at the top of Well Lane. Visitors are most welcome. Look at our up and coming events, pop in, have a cup of tea and find out what’s going on.
We hold social gatherings throughout the year including garden parties, hot pot suppers and an annual quiz. As well as a good way of raising funds it gives members an opportunity to interact, exchange ideas and (of course) have a bit of fun! Take a look at our up and coming events and contact us to find out how you can join in!
The Trust regularly holds or attends exhibitions to promote the Trust and its activities. If you see us out and about, please introduce yourself and have a chat … but we can’t promise we won’t try and tell you about the benefits of joining the Trust! The photo shows our exhibition explaining the Weaverham Greener Way.
Weaverham News is distributed to all households in the village and provides news and information about the many organisations in Weaverham such as various clubs, churches, planning, WI and lots more. You can find out more about Weaverham News and access back issues on-line here.
Developed from the work on the Parish Landscape Statement, it proposes a network of existing and new woodland paths, hedgerows and riverbanks to almost circle the village. It’s an ambitious, long term project that would enhance the village and encourage wildlife. You can download A Greener Way here.
Membership of the Trust is open to everyone living in the parish of Weaverham. If you would like to join or need further information please Contact Us
